RequiredYour quote covers your prefab home. Secret Beach Homes and the Government of Belize also require the following items for a complete, turn-key home:
- Site re-survey. A survey is required as part of the building permit application.
- Site preparation. Your build site will likely need brush clearing, backfill and grading. This is an additional cost added to your build quote. Ask your build consultant about site prep options.
- Architectural drawings. A licensed Belize architect prepares your blueprints, which are submitted to the Town Council, the CBA and PUC for approval to begin construction.
- Approval of building plans. You must have an approved, valid building permit before construction can begin on your lot.
- Septic. Your off-grid home needs a septic system designed and installed to CBA guidelines.
- Water system. An off-grid water catchment system must be designed and installed for your home to be approved for occupancy.
- Solar system. PUC requires a solar system and backup generator for your home’s power.
- Connections and hook-ups. Once your home is delivered and set on its foundation, all plumbing, electrical, HVAC and waste systems are connected and tested for occupancy.
